By using these easy tips around the home you can greatly reduce the amount of Earth's energy you use daily. We add new tips regularly so look out for our next update!
Close windows and doors.
In winter closing your windows and doors will keep the heat in, so that heaters can be used minimally.
Close the fridge door properly.
Failing to close the refrigerator door means that the inside lamp and cooling fans work overtime and use more energy than is necessary.
Switch off electrical appliances.
Any electrical appliances around the house such as TV’s, computers and sound systems should be switched off completely when not in use. Leaving appliances on, even on standby, consumes energy.
Turn off your geyser.
Switching your geyser off at night when you are sleeping is a great way to save energy and stop your water heater from burning unnecessarily. Switch it on again in the morning so you can have a hot shower at night. Use a timer and set it to switch on your geyser only when you need it – 2 hours at night and 2 hours in the morning.
